“I have to apologize to Brainclaw for being so late with this review. Unfortunately their demo got misplaced. But hey, better late than never. Spawned in 1989, Brainclaw is the brainchild of David Giuffre, who now creates riveting electronic-based music with the aid of a sultry singer by the name of Tara Lessard. The group’s aggressive, futuristic, electro-industrial sound conjures up fond memories of the genre’s forefathers (NIN, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Ministry, Front 242…) Their darkly-themed material is rounded out by aggressive rhythms, moody textures, and angst-filled beats. All three tracks are worthy of repeated spins on the dance floor and your CD player. I’d love to hear more from this band.
