Gary Billings and David Giuffre cover Pink Floyd song

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Gary and David spent Sunday creating a darker cover of a Pink Floyd song that was already pretty dark, “Comfortably Numb.”

You can check it out HERE.

Enjoy.

“Comfortably Numb” was featured on the platinum-selling Pink Floyd album, The Wall, released in 1979.

David will be performing this song and several others live with Gary at his next show, so stay tunes for show dates.

Be sure to check Gary’s MySpace page for all kinds of new songs and concert dates.

Guitarist John Ruszin unites with Brainclaw!

Friday, December 19th, 2008

David of BrainclawWe here at the Brainclaw Enclave are terribly excited to announce an intense new collaboration with an old friend and bandmate:

John Ruszin, guitar virtuoso and head of the Collinwood 13 electro industrial project, has come on board, lending his precise and powerful axe-playing to the new Brainclaw CD, DECEPTOR.

As many Brainclaw fans know, David and John met when Philadelphia industrial rock act Carfax Abbey was created 12 years ago, where they composed a large portion of the music for Carfax’s early and middle years.

The new Brainclaw songs were already moving in a very hard direction, and the addition of John’s guitar tracks on many of the new songs will upgrade the recording with a serious amount of kick-ass.

John has also expressed interest in, and will be joining Brainclaw on tour this summer in support of the new album’s release.

We welcome John’s addition to the team, and look forward to deploying his particular brand of industrial mayhem in our future stage show!

Check out John’s solo work at his Collinwood 13 website.

Also stay tuned for super secret snippets of the nearly finished songs from the upcoming Brainclaw release, on LiveJournal, Facebook, MySpace and right here at the official Brainclaw Website.

New Brainclaw song sneak-peek!

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

We here at the Brainclaw Enclave are pleased to present a sneak-peek at a song from the upcoming Brainclaw release.

Here, for your listening pleasure, is the new song, “Desperate Measures” which will be featured on the new Brainclaw CD.

Desperate Measures (192kbps mp3 file)

The album writing is coming along well, and this release is taking shape as a much harder-edged, angrier recording than either of the previous releases.

There are about 8 completed songs, with various other tunes in multiple stages of completion at this point. Videos for several of the new songs are under construction as well.

You can expect more Brainclaw live shows as the weather cools, so check out the Performance page for those dates in the Fall.

Keep tuned to this channel for updates on this release and other Brainclaw news.

Thanks again to all of you who have been keeping in touch with us during the writing phase and we look forward to seeing many of you soon!

Brainclaw mauls Mojo 13

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

We had a blast at Mojo 13 in Delaware this past weekend.

Everyone was super-cool and the other bands were outstanding! We played with Auradel and Red This Ever.

There was excellent DJ action by DJ Killcrazy, DJ Shadylady and DJ Darenzia of Angst and Tragedy showed up as well!

The crowd was excellent, and most stuck around for our late set.

The club itself was great, set up with a carnival funhouse kind of vibe. The front door of the club was a giant scary clown mouth that you walked in through.

Big fun was had! Thanks to Gavin (a.k.a. DJ Killcrazy) for setting up and running the night. We would definitely play there again!

You will find pictures of the show (as always) at the bottom of the Brainclaw website’s home page, in the flash player there. Just click on the VIEW LARGE GALLERY link to access the full-sized gallery, and then hit the table icon to explore all of the images available, from our latest show all the way back to our first.

Enjoy!

Brainclaw slaughters the Sterling

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Brainclaw played a fun show at the historic Sterling Hotel in Allentown, PA this past weekend.

The crowd was fantastic, and Brainclaw debuted some new songs from the upcoming new album.

Everyone was very nice, and good friend Wallace Shaffer was able to capture some excellent photos, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Brainclaw home page.

Don’t forget to click on the “view large gallery” link to see the large version of the photos.

The band is preparing for a show in Philadelphia in November. Be sure to watch this page for showtimes and locations.

Thanks to all Clawlings who traveled to see the Sterling show, and especially to all the new Clawlings we met for the first time! Thanks for letting us autograph you, Danielle!
